Starting Pay: $18.82 - $20.93/hour

Status: Full-Time | Immediate Hire

Schedule: Open availability required, including all shifts, weekends, and holidays.

About the Role: As an Intermodal Terminal Equipment Specialist, you will be essential in the safe and efficient movement of shipping containers within our intermodal yard. You will operate specialized equipment including hostlers, cranes, top loaders, and side loaders, to manage the loading, unloading, and relocation of containers—ensuring timely freight movement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy equipment to load and unload shipping containers from railcars and trucks.

  • Drive hostlers to position containers and chassis within the yard.

  • Utilize top loaders, side loaders, and cranes to stack, move, and organize containers.

  • Conduct equipment inspections before and after use to guarantee safety.

  • Communicate effectively with yard personnel and supervisors to coordinate tasks.

  • Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to established protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Preferably have experience operating heavy equipment or machinery in logistics or industrial settings.

  • Exhibit a strong commitment to safety and an eye for detail.

  • Capacity to work outdoors in varied weather and perform physically demanding tasks.

  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.

  • Basic communication skills and a collaborative team spirit.

  • Able to lift up to 50lbs.

  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs both on and off railcars.

  • A valid driver's license is required.

  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screening.

  • Open availability is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in intermodal or rail yard operations.

  • Familiarity with container handling equipment such as hostlers, top loaders, or cranes.

  • Having a CDL or equipment certifications is a plus but not mandatory.
