This leader will enable integrating next generation technology innovations, new business process solutions, and organization workforce development toward rapidly improve engineering efficiency, vehicle quality, and program delivery.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities</strong><br><br><strong>What you'll do...</strong><br><ul> <li>Experience in developing and delivering Global Vehicle Virtual Validation (Digital PreAssembly (DPA)) business processes, methods, and capabilities for the following objectives and outcomes: <ul> <li>Development, execution, and enhancement of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Product Structures for architectures into Subsystems, Systems Engineering Teams (SETs), and/or Zones</li> <li>Joint development, execution, and enhancement (with PD Program Management) next generation Configuration Management based on Vehicle Marketing Catalog of Features, Options, Packages, and Usage, to enable Virtual Validation of all saleable vehicle variants.</li> <li>Development, execution, and enhancement of CAD/PLM Vehicle Variants in CAD/PLM, commonly known as Control Models and/or Product Data Models (Digital Twins) for designers, engineers, program management, finance, manufacturing engineering, and service consumption.</li> <li>Development, execution, and enhancement of next generation Design Quality Checks</li> <li>Development, execution, and enhancement of Vehicle Virtual Validation for Fit, Form, Function, Clearance, Interference, and Motion Analysis across Parts, Subsystems, System Integrations, Studio Class-A Surfaces, Serviceability, and Manufacturability. Advanced development in Virtual Validation with next generation integrations, automations, and ML/AI technologies.</li> <li>Deliver business value and outcomes by 1| Improving the productivity and efficiency of Product Development (designers, engineers, program teams, and finance), 2| Shifting left the Vehicle Development Process (compressing overall PD engineering cycle time), and 3| Reducing the number of post-production release engineering changes. </li> </ul></li> <li>Experience with core Digital Engineering business processes, tools, and capabilities including: Vehicle Assumptions, Vehicle Technical Specifications, Vehicle Requirements, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Materials Engineering, Bill of Materials Management (BOM), Model Based Engineering (MBE), Computer Aided Engineering (CAD), Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), Computer Aided Engineering (CAE), Modeling & Simulation, Visualization (VIS), Simultaneous Service Release, Digital Manufacturability Requirements, Digital Product Assembly Documents, Digital Work Instructions, and Digital Serviceability Requirements.</li> <li>Experience with Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality, leveraging Digital Twins for virtual product evaluations with Studio, Architecture, Product Development, Manufacturing, and Service.</li> <li>Support the immediate program requirements able to develop longer-term vision</li> <li>Provide direction and the manage the team to continuously improve the process and tools improve the quality and speed of delivery of the Virtual Validation capabilities</li> <li>Experience with information technology and agile software development teams to translate product engineering requirements into developing new and/or improving existing business processes, tools, and engineering capabilities</li> <li>Develop, maintain and publish key performance indicators (KPIs) and measures to show the work progress and business value delivered</li> <li>Business acumen, to ensure and demonstrate that the internal team continues to remain cost efficient and value for money compared to outside vendors</li> <li>Able to work across regions and recognize the different needs of those regions</li> <li>Build and maintain close cross-functional relationships with Global Marketing, Global Program Management (GPDS, Vehicle Architecture), Global Engineering (Product Design, Product Configuration, Product Verification/Validation, Product Test/Certification), Purchasing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, and Service.</li></ul><br><br><strong>Qualifications</strong><br><br><strong>You'll have...</strong><br><br><strong>Minimum Requirements:</strong><br><ul><li>Masters Degree in Engineering, Science, or Technology preferred</li><li>10+ Years - Experience in developing, executing, and operating Virtual Validation business processes, systems/tools, and engineering capabilities preferred</li><li>10+ Years - Experience leading a global product development design team and successfully delivering on vehicle development process milestones preferred</li><li>10+ Years - Knowledge in Digital Engineering Dassault Systemes Software and/or Siemens Digital Industrial Software tools for Studio, PLM, BOM, CAD, CAE, MOD/SIM, Configuration, Change, and VIS preferred</li><li>Knowledge of Agile Software Development and Project Management</li><li>Familiarity with how to use Jira to manage and deliver projects in an agile fashion</li><li>Understanding of vehicle systems and architecture, automotive candidates preferred</li><li>Growth mind set, excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills</li></ul><br><strong>Additional Information</strong><br><ul><li><strong>Job Function</strong>: Product Engineering</li><li><strong>Organization: </strong>Digital Transformation</li><li><strong>Salary Grade</strong>: LL6</li><li><strong>Location</strong>: Product Development Center (PDC), Dearborn MI</li></ul><br><br>You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!<br><br>As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice.
