<p></p><p>Power Plant Subject Matter Expert – Denver, CO or Framingham, MA</p><p></p><p>Leidos Engineering has an opportunity for a Power Plant Electrical Engineer Subject Matter Expert with primary responsibility being a working knowledge about the electrical design, construction, operation and maintenance, and interconnection of power generation facilities, as well as related contractual agreements.  The candidate is expected to work in a team setting to support project managers during transactional due diligence.</p><p></p><p>Critical skills include verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work in teams.</p><p></p><p><b>Location:</b> Ideal candidate would be located within commuting distance to the Denver, CO or Framingham, MA areas. Remote candidates will be considered but must be located within the US.</p><p></p><p><b><span>Primary Responsibilities:</span></b></p><ul><li>Performs electrical design and interconnection review of power plant, substation, and transmission projects and prepare associated reports.</li><li>Attend power plant, substation, and transmission project meetings to confirm status of site E&IC construction and operation and maintenance.</li><li>Managing client engagements and ongoing client relationships.</li><li>Presenting work product results and findings to client executives.</li><li>Conducting business development activities both through internal collaboration and directly with clients and prospects.</li><li>Developing and expanding key client relationships.</li><li>Effectively and efficiently support projects and project team members working both independently and in collaboration with other colleagues and managers.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS:</span></b><br> </p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering required, with eight plus (8+) plus years of experience in electrical operation, maintenance and/or design of power generation and substation assets or similar experience, including specific knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems, controls, and protection relaying.  Experience with or ability to apply oneself to a broad range of power generation technologies, including wind generation, solar PV generation, battery energy storage systems, and thermal generation.</li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills.</li><li>Ability to work independently or as part of a team.  While a work location near either Denver, CO or Framingham, MA is preferred, working from a home office at a different location may be negotiable.</li><li>Ability to successfully meet deadlines under pressure.  Clients will include private equity, infrastructure, and hedge funds, investment and commercial banks, private developers, legal and financial advisors, original equipment providers, DOE, and EIA,</li><li>Successful track record maintaining client relations and working with clients (both internal and external).</li><li>Professional Engineering licensure is preferred.</li><li>The job may require as much as 25 percent travel.</li><li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. </li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>What You Might Also have: </span></b></p><p></p><ul><li>Direct experience with electrical equipment such as synchronous generators, excitation, inverters, motors, transformers, circuit breakers, disconnect switches, capacitor banks, and transmission lines is a plus.</li><li>Foreign language skills are a plus</li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>Looking for an opportunity to make an impact?</span></b></p><p></p><p><b><span>At Leidos</span></b>, we deliver innovative solutions through the efforts of our diverse and talented people who are dedicated to our customers’ success.
